Corcovado Coastline, near Guaria

Guaria de Osa, snuggled off the beach, is located in a prime spot for exploration of regions rich in biological diversity! It is surrounded by significant protected stands of primary tropical rainforest and marine reserves.
Our neighboring Corcovado National Park is considered the Crown Jewel of Costa Rica's National Park System. Nearby, within easy visiting reach, is the Caño Island Oceanic reserve (a world-famous scuba diving site), Isla Violines Biological Reserve, the Mangrove Estuaries of the Terraba and Sierpe Rivers and the Golfo Dulce Forest reserve. We are also in visiting proximity to La Amistad National Park and Chiripo Volcano.

Guaria's beach front

Guaria de Osa shares a remote one and a quarter mile-long coconut laden paradise beach, called Playa Rincón de San Josesito (Saint Joseph's Corner).
Pacific Beaches of indescribable beauty are located within a short walk from Guaria de Osa, such as, Río Claro, excellent for surfing nearly all year long and a favorite for swimming, with its cool jade green river and towering rainforest trees growing literally right down to the beach, only a half hour walk down the beach trail; and San Josesito Beach, even closer to Guaria being a mere 15 minutes walk away, is considered among the finest on the Osa Peninsula with a protected bay with excellent for snorkeling and swimming. There are many other secluded beaches and coves one can discover walking north or south.

Pizotes or Coatimundi

This fantastic peninsula in the SOUTHERN ZONE of COSTA RICA is where wildlife sightings are guaranteed. Scarlet Macaws and Toucans, as well as Howler and White Faced Monkeys ignore the curious visitor. The forest is remarkable with giant towering trees and gallery groves. It is the Osa Peninsula, the world famous wild side of this unspoiled country, that can offer all of this incredible natural beauty in close proximity - right down to the beach - where the deep blue ocean is fertile breeding waters for many kinds of fish, whales, turtles and dolphins.

The red spot is Guaria's main lodge
Best of all, the water here is the warmest in all of Costa Rica!
The OSA PENINSULA, "The Little Amazon by the Ocean " is home of one of the last great stands of Central American Tropical Rainforests thriving right up to a pristine Pacific Ocean, it has been described as "the most biologically intense place on Earth" by National Geographic magazine.

Towering Canopy Trees

This is what makes Guaria de Osa so unique, an outrageous rainforest lodge surrounded by primary rainforest, wilderness coastline, paradise beaches and a pristine Pacific Ocean in a peaceful and warm country with wholehearted new friends that can leave every cell in your body singing “Pura Vida” – Pure life!
